Who we are

At the moment The Big House is a group of people who share a vision and are committed to following God on the journey to see that vision become a reality. We hope that along the way "The Big House" will become a place as well as a people, but that's another article!

The group of people that make up The Big House form an organisation with a Board of Directors, Volunteer Workers, Volunteer Leaders, Supporters and Advisors. In the future we hope to add full-time staff to this list. We are drawn from a  wide variety of ages, backgrounds, professions and denominations. However we all share a Christian faith and a desire for young people, regardless of their situation, to know the reality of God's love and encounter Jesus. 
 
Volunteers

The Big House depends on volunteers for its development and programmes.

Our volunteer workers devote their time, skills and energy to administering and developing The Big House, it's plans, structures, people and programmes. The two individuals you are most likely to come across doing thsi work are Angela Minion and Colin Cochrane. Angela works full-time on developing our people and programmes, as well as chairing our Board and a few other things. Colin works part-time on administration, communication, and anything vaguely technical. David Reaney gives us valuable advice as our Financial Director, and Krystal Mohn helps us on a regular basis with our fundraising.

Our volunteer leaders are those who help us to deliver our programmes, especially residentials and other forms of youth work. We are committed not only to growing this team, but also to training and developing them. 
 
Meet the Board

As a charity we responsible to a board of directors. Their role is to make sure that The Big House does what it has said it will do and does it properly. They make sure that we remain true to our vision, follow God faithfully, and fulfill our legal responsibilities as a charity. Fortunately for us they are also a wonderful group of people who have lots of experience to draw on, give very good and Godly advice, and are a passionate and supportive about what we do.
