Prayer Support

prayerIt is our prayer that The Big House will be a place where God's presence is evident: a place of hope, where lives are changed for eternity. We need people who will pray, in their homes, in their churches, in prayer groups or triplets. We’ll keep you up to date, all we ask is that you pray.

To help you pray in an informed way we produce a monthly Prayer Bulletin and a quarterly Big House Update (also useful if you just want to keep up to date) and are in the process of establishing a number local Prayer Groups.

Below are some things we'd appreciate you praying for at present.

 
Praying Together

There's something different about praying together with other believers, something good! We need people who will pray in their homes, churches, small groups, etc. but we also want to provide opportunities for people to come together and pray for The Big House. To seek God's face, worship Him, bring people and situations before our almighty and compassionate God, and to listen for His voice.

At present we have one regular prayer group. This group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8pm in The Sandel Centre on Knocklynn Road. Click here for directions. 

We would also like to have a group that meets in the Greater Belfast area. If you would be interested in attending, or hosting this group, please contact us.
 
Prayer Points

  • thanking God for providing us with a growing team of people to help us fundraise for our programmes and a property
  • for a great first training day and camp 
  • for volunteers to help with administration, fundraising and camps
  • for our forthcoming events –
    • 23rd January 2010 Training Day for youth & church leaders who want to understand more about eating disorders and be equipped to help young people who suffer from them.
    • 5th February Charity Ball – an opportunity for us to share the vision of Big House with a large number of people and raise funds for the coming year’s programme 
    • 6th March Training Day for youth & church leaders who want to understand more about Self-harm and be equipped to help young people who suffer from them. 
    • 16th – 18th April 2010 Beautiful camp for girls aged 14-18
    • 20th – 23rd August 2010 Summer camp for teenagers with learning disabilities and their teenage siblings
  • for continuing good relationships with denomination youth boards, and para church organisations and further opportunities to partner with other churches and organisations.  
  • for a place where The Big House will have its home, that we will receive the property and/or funding we need for this and know God's leading in these important decisions. Pray specifically that God will guide the Charitable Trusts and individuals with whom we share this vision, that they will know which of the many projects they are approached about God would have them support;
  • for the work of The Big House, that Big House would be used by God to bring many young people into an encounter with Jesus, finding hope in even the most difficult situations that they face in life.
