Retreats
The Big House provides a peaceful, spacious and beautiful venue for retreat. Our House Chaplain offers half day and full day retreats for individuals and groups in leadership, and each can be tailored for young people.
Hospitality will be coordinated by our House Manager, Paula.
Alternatively, you can book The Big House as the place to lead your own day away for you or your group. We will provide the food and space for you.

HeART Retreat
A day being creative, with guided and informal conversation about following Jesus.
During this retreat we will be creating some art pieces, as we do so Paul will gently guide the communal conversation around following Jesus. Meanwhile we’ll be drinking coffee and pausing to pray throughout the day.
Strong Retreat
During this retreat we will be encouraged by some of the themes explored in The Big House Strong resource. Spending some time deliberately remembering Jesus as our ‘Yoke-Fellow’ and what that kind of companionship looks like in the rub of our everyday.
Trellis Retreat
A trellis is simply there to support the growth of a plant, a means to an end. During this retreat we will explore some spiritual disciplines (or practices) as trellis supports and crosspieces as means to help us:
1. Be with Jesus
2. Become like Jesus
3. Do what Jesus did
Leadership Retreat
A devotional day exploring two leaders from the Bible. David and Deborah’s leadership of others was fuelled by their following of God. During this retreat we pause through the day to take a devotional look at some of the episodes from Deborah and David’s lives and invite God to speak to our leadership role today.
